For background on what I’m doing this year, read this post first.
Winning bid of $75 to Boston Area Gleaners in the comments.
Next up for a donation for a great cause is Edelweiss. This shawl is a little bit smaller than the others, likely due to the smaller needle with lace weight yarn.
Yet another translated-from-original-Russian shawl. The designer is Lidia Ziginova, and it’s the first time I’ve tried one of her patterns. Won’t be the last. Took about a week. While complex enough to hold my interest through the whole thing, the stitches were quite easy.
The yarn is from Spirit Trail Fiberworks. It’s a lace weight merino/silk blend. It’s so hard to photograph the hint of sheen which gives the whole shawl a really nice glow. The color in the photographs is as accurate as I can get it. It’s a dark grey/navy shade called ‘Ink.’ I’d definitely knit with it again. Sadly, it appears to be discontinued.
Interested? Minimum bid of $75, leave a comment and don’t forget to mention the charity that you’d like your payment to go towards. That’s the best part!
