This page has been really slow. Seemed to take forever to come up, especially the WordPress administration pages. They have a little timer at the bottom and this morning it showed nearly 58 seconds to pull up the dashboard. That’s not good.

I removed the Popularity Contest plug-in which I suspected wasn’t helping matters much. I also dumped any plug-ins that weren’t active and hadn’t been in a while. I can always reinstall them. These actions appeared to help the public pages a bit, but didn’t do a thing for the admin pages.

Then I logged in to phpMyAdmin and optimized all the tables. That’s more like it! From 57.56-59 seconds to load the dashboard to 2.82 seconds.
