I started “A View from Home” on a whim while bored four years ago. I was reading discovering blogs that I liked and I kept reading about Movable Type. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to see if I could tinker with it and make it work. I did.
Little did I know then how much the experience would bring to my life. I can’t begin to count the friends I’ve made, the problems I’ve solved and the opportunities that have opened for me out of what I started with my iBook G3 at my kitchen table in January 2003.
I didn’t get a single comment until I had been blogging for nearly a month!
I thought I would write a comment here so you do not feel no one listens to you.

Until that point, it didn’t dawn on me that anyone was actually reading what I was posting. I still write on this blog more for me than anyone else. I blog about what I would like to read. When this blog started, we were in the middle of a major remodeling job on our house so it was “Mom Building a Home.” Over the years it has evolved to cover different topics, depending on whatever is fresh and interesting to me. Doesn’t earn me as much as i could get in ad revenue, but I like my blog this way.
Thanks again for coming along for the ride. Here’s to at least 4 more.

Judi – this is the third blog post I’ve read today with almost the same “where it started” theme. Being a total beginner, it’s interesting to read that even though I feel like I’m talking to outerspace sometimes, It’s all just a matter of time that more people will respond, not that I need the response, but it validates what we’re doing. In return hopefully we’re giving something back to those folks that tune in on a regular basis.
Anyway, thanks for this post. Perked me up a little more.
