Now this is the best news I’ve heard today:
Adobe is planning to release a public beta of Adobe Photoshop CS3 in the near futurepossibly by week’s endsources report. The surprise development means both Mac and PC Photoshop users will be able to test the application’s new features some months before its final release. Think Secret recently disclosed a number of those upcoming details in a recent report.
advertisementSources say that satiating owners of Intel-based Macs was one of the primary reasons driving Adobe to release the public beta.
Ya think?!? At this point, after working Adobe CS2 apps for all of 5 days on my new MacBook Pro I can honestly say that I don’t care about new features. I want the speed. CS2 apps take forever to launch. They’re fine once they’re open, but switching in and out between them is painful. This is becoming a standard part of my workflow: Work in InDesign, realize I have to edit something in Photoshop or Illustrator, click to the other app, check email, come back to actually make the edit.
Personally, I’d be happier if there was a public beta of InDesign CS3 since that’s where I spend most of my time, but this’ll do.
