We took the girls to see Cars today.
It was cute. Visually gorgeous. Story? eh.
AP’s review says it best:
The makers of “Doc Hollywood” called. They want their movie back.
Been there, done that. Nearly the same plotwise, note-for-note until about 3/4 of the way through.
It’s a long movie, and Emily was clearly bored in parts. You knew how the movie was going to end before it started, so it’s just a matter of getting there with as many over-the-kid’s-head jokes as you can get so the people who bought the tickets aren’t bored. Typical animation these days.
By far, my favorite part of the movie was the ending credits. Hysterical.

We took my son Tony (3 years old) to see it today. We went to a matinee in town for $2 each. My wife and I really enjoyed the movie and Tony enjoyed *most* of it. It was a little long for a kids movie, but well done.
