Now that I work for one company, I let my Photos.com and PhotoSpin.com subscriptions run out and I tend to favor iStockPhoto.com for my stock photography needs. Can’t beat the pricing. We just can’t afford to pay hundreds of dollars per image from sites like CMSP or Phototake. Tonight I found fotolia, which seems like a site very similar to iStockPhoto. Excellent interface, very cheap pricing. Similar licensing.
I’m usually looking for medical-related imagery. But I have to laugh at shots like this one from iStockPhoto which are far too common.
It’s captioned “Dr and nurses reviewing a chart.” Yeah, right. It’s 3 models playing dress-up. When looking for stock images for cancer-related publications, one should not think that the hospital staff just came from a Maxim photo shoot. Doesn’t do a lot for the credibility.
