Who needs an orchestra when you have a cello and a computer?

From time to time, Digg leads me to something interesting that you wouldn’t see otherwise.

Someone with talent and a lot of time on his hands recorded himself playing 37 separate cello parts and mixed it together in 23 tracks to create one song. Pretty amazing. I could have done without some of the cheesy hey-look-what-I-can-do effects, but it’s worth it to see how he laid the music down layer by layer.

Of course, Digg being the new Slashdot, the guy’s site has been hammered into a steaming pile of goo, so it’s best to watch it on YouTube.
