Good news out of the Adobemedia forums from the Fireworks Product Manager:
Fireworks continues to be an important product to the combined Macromedia/Adobe portfolio and is actively under product development for a yet-to-be announced product release.
Fireworks has some annoying bugs, still, but there’s so much that it does right that no other application can do quite as well. I’m glad to see that it’s not the lame duck most (including me) thought it was.
This article entitled “Why Choose Fireworks?” is a good read.
Maybe Fireworks 9 will finally let me nudge font sizes using the keyboard.
One response to “Adobe Fireworks: Stay of execution”
Hi Judi,
This entry popped up in my feed reader this morning. First, thank you for mentioning my article.
As for the new version of Fireworks, near the end of the same forum thread you mention there’s a post by Alan Musselman concerning the new version’s beta program. He asks people interested to write to him. Participating in betas is a bit of extra work but it can be a lot of fun. I was an advisor/alpha/beta tester for the last 3 versions of both Fireworks and Dreamweaver and I loved it. If you’re interested, get a hold of Alan here:

Cheers!
