Despite some minor hiccups, I’m still quite happy with [Dreamhost](http://www.dreamhost.com/rewards.cgi?momathome) as a hosting company. They’re adding new features to their hosting accounts without changing the price.
More disk space (now 7.5 GB), more bandwidth (192GB), a redesigned and very easy to use MySQL configuration control panel and now today they announce one-click install software. They’ve had one-click WordPress blogs for a while. Now, you can click a button and install [phpBB forum](http://www.phpbb.com/), [Advanced Poll](http://www.proxy2.de/) and [osCommerce Store](http://www.oscommerce.com/). I’ve installed phpBB on my own before and it’s not complicated. It takes more to install MovableType and that’s not complicated either. But the one-click interface is slick and easy. Select the software, select the domain, pick a MySQL database to go with it and it’s done. 10 minutes later you get an email confirming installation and you’re good to go. I just used it to install phpBB to a site I’m working on. Secure and patched, of course.
On the down side, the tech support is not quite as speedy as [ICDSoft](http://www.icdsoft.com) who answers support tickets almost immediately. But Dreamhost does have a phone call back option. You get 3 calls a month and they called me within 2-3 hours of my request, on a Sunday no less.
I get my monthly Dreamhost newsletter and think “oh, what goodies are they giving me now?” Not bad for under $20 a month.
