If you have a MovableType, TypePad or Blogger blog (which is most bloggers I’ve found) then you have to try ecto.

ecto is the next generation of Kung-Log, which was formerly donationware. I donated, so I was fortunate to get in on an early beta of ecto and now it’s public. It’s well worth whatever shareware fee Adriaan wants to charge. The interface is reorganized, it’s fast and makes maintaining a weblog so much easier.

It’s very stable for a beta. There’s some sort of conflict (at least on my set-up) with the Textile text formatting plug-in where long entries cut off in the preview which I’ve already reported and will hopefully be fixed.

Update: He’s moving fast towards final. Version 0.1.7 is out. I got a VersionTracker alert in my inbox before hearing about it from Adriaan or seeing it on his site. It fixes a problem with the title field (delete and other modify keys didn’t work).
